Brother Malcolm Skate Project
The Brother Malcolm Skate Project offers skateboarding sessions for Town of Huntington youth through partnership with the Tri-CYA and members of Aged Skaters. Participants learn basic skills and park etiquette from experienced skaters and join a welcoming community where everyone belongs.
Honoring the life and legacy of Malcolm D. DeLara by supporting the next generation of skaters with the same brotherly love he brought to everyone around him.
What we do:
Build: Each child picks out and helps to assemble a skateboard
Learn: Members of the Aged Skateboarders guide the kids through basic skills and park etiquette.
Belong: There are no tryouts or cuts. Every child is welcome at every skill level.
Give: Coming soon The Brother Malcolm Skate Project scholarship and Woodward Skate camp trip
Serve with brotherly/genuine love: Coordinate local youth to prepare “Gifts of Hope” to be brought to the Riverhead Correctional Facility and distributed to youth visiting loved ones, during the holiday season
Value: Mental and physical wellness through connection, movement, and community
Our impact so far:
Since our first session in October 2025, 15 Town of Huntington youth have taken part in the program.
